Auvergne-gites with pool

With four very definite seasons this region of France is fascinating all year round.

The summers tend to be hot with sudden and spectacular storms, these don't usually last long and tend to clear the air. The temperatures vary greatly but at an altitude of 670 metres there is normally a cooling breeze to be appreciated on very hot days.

Spring as you would expect is a very beautiful time of year with the high meadows showing the wild flowers off to their very best. The weather can be warm and sunny with cool evenings or sometimes produce a late snowfall!!

Autumn is my favorite time of year and is generally very warm and dry with daytime temperatures sometimes up in the mid 20's and crystal clear skies I can see where 'the seasons of mists and mellow fruitfullness' really comes from!

Winter in the last 2 years have been quite mild with only moderate snowfall. Although nightime temperatures can fall well below freezing, the air is very crisp and dry. Winter as it should be.
